What is self drive?
U-drive a bus yourself.
How does it work?
If you hold an open car licence you can drive up to a 12 seat bus. If you hold an open LR licence you can drive up to a 25 seat bus.
When hiring a bus you sign a hire contract, pay for the hire and leave a security deposit. You can also choose to pay an insurance excess reducer to reduce the insurance excess.
We supply the bus full of fuel, and ask you to return it full (or charges apply). Your security deposit is refunded on return of the bus.
Conditions of hire?
- You must be over 21 yrs with an Open licence and correct class of licence.
- Security Deposit: A security deposit of $250 on credit card or $500 cash is a standard request, and is refundable on return of the bus.
- Peace of Mind Vehicle Insurance: The buses are covered by comprehensive insurance, however if any damage is caused, there is an excess of $3300 for drivers over the age of 26 years and $5500 for drivers between 21 - 25 years. Insurance covers external damage and single vehicle accident with animal only. Internal damage through misuse is not covered. Insurance is void unless previously notified for travel on gravel or unsealed roads.
- ***Insurance Excess Reducer: We offer you an insurance excess reducer for the 12 - 25 seat buses. For $22.50 per day the excess is reduced to $550 for drivers over 26 years and $2750 for 21-25 years. This reducer covers tyres & windscreens, but not when travelling on gravel or unsealed roads. It does not cover damages occurred due to neglect. ***Conditions apply

- Buses are serviced under our personal program using only quality parts, tyres and oils.
- RACQ breakdown coverage is provided at no extra cost to you.
- All vehicles undergo a compulsory 6 monthly inspection with Queensland Transport.
